The Journey to the
Eternal Sources of Music
Through the functional mechanics of classical music we can release the coordinating power of the intellect. In the musical force-field of the harmony we gain the deepest insight into our vibrating mind which moves in cosmic wave formations as it experiences this universal field.
By
means of the musical logic we penetrate purposively into the depths of our
mind.
Through the refinement of our thinking,
we systematically
develop the world of our feeling and understanding the realm of cognition
of our intellect.
Initially
we notice to what extent the thinking of a thought is agreeable to us.
But in the course of time the influence of every thought on our feeling becomes
more and more distinguishable to us.
The
mechanics of our thinking is designed in such a way that the experience of
deeper levels within our mind brings our feeling more happiness and gives
our understanding more joy.
For in the deeper force-fields of our mind, each individual thought harbours
greater energy and intelligence and with the perception of a thought
having more energy and intelligence our feeling and our understanding automatically
release more energy and more intelligence for themselves.
"When a composer creates something of lasting value, he stands face to face with that eternal power from which all life emerges, and he draws from it."
Max Bruch
In
its systematics of gaining knowledge, classical music leans on the natural
tendency of our feeling to strive for greater and greater happiness, and on
the intention of our understanding to experience greater and greater joy.
Logically therefore that, when we listen to genuine classical music, we register
an increase of mental liveliness as well as a general increase of joy of life.
So,
our feeling and our understanding demand from us to advance into the depths
of our thinking.
They point out the path to cosmic feeling and cosmic understanding
simply by ascertaining the musical level of happiness and joy of life.
When we have reached the dimension of cosmic feeling and cosmic understanding, we have reached at the same time the field of cosmic thinking and therefore the universal basis of our individual feeling and comprehending; and eventually, with our insight into the all-embracing musical force-field of the harmony, we experience the original, all-embracing, universal function of our intellect.
On this level, each impulse of our feeling and understanding is also that cosmic impulse of all living music, which grants elemental unity and diversity.
